Visiting Graduate Student
My name is Pilar Casanova, I am 27 years old, and I come from Valencia (Spain). After studying a Biotechnology degree at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, I did a master's degree in Regenerative Biomedicine at the University of Granada (Spain). I have worked in developmental biology both in C.elegans and Wistar rat animal models and I am currently doing my PhD focused on the early development of insulin resistance mediated by environmental factors such as diet. I definitely love science and diabetes is one of the subjects I am most passionate about, that is why I am very pleased to have come to the Joslin Diabetes Center as a visiting research student. In my free time I love travelling to discover new cities and cultures, playing sports such as tennis or sailing, but I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends!
