Maryam was born in Iran, graduated from medical school there and worked as a general practitioner in her hometown. Her dream is to be an endocrinologist. Maryam is interested in working with Patti lab to study about Hypoglycemia, occurring after gastric bypass surgery, which is a challenging complication for patients and physicians. She is excited to learn about the Epigenetic intergenerational inheritance of metabolic disease risk being investigated by the Patti lab team. In her free time, Maryam enjoys yoga, cooking, hiking. Her favorite activity is camping in the outdoors with friends and family.
