See Yang Lu's Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Yang Lu is currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Beetham Eye Institute, Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the investigation of diabetic retinopathy using ultrahigh resolution human retinal imaging techniques, such as Adaptive Optics Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy (AOSLO). 

Prior to his post-doc position, he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. At Boston University, he worked on adaptive optics imaging in the Precision Engineering Research Laboratory. His dissertation dealt with aberration correction in high numerical aperture solid immersion lens (SIL). He graduated with his B.S. degree in physics from Jilin University, Changchun, China, in 2008.

Besides research on cool optical phenomenon, Dr. Lu's enjoys travelling, digital photography and being a fan of Boston Celtics. He has traveled to more than 25 states, took uncountable photos, and watched a ton of Celtics games. His goal is to take pictures of all 50 states before Boston Celtics raise up Banner 18!!!
