Dr. Haider received her Bachelor's degree in Biopharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Ottawa in 2014. Nida explored various research fields of study during that time through participating in the co-op program at Ottawa, Canada. Nida then moved to Montreal and received her Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in August of 2019. Supported by a doctoral FRQS scholarship from Quebec during her Ph.D., she focused on the role of Nck adaptor proteins in white adipose tissue biology. Nida joined the Kahn lab in October of 2019 as a research fellow and plans to use human induced pluripotent stem cells as a disease-in-a-dish model to study the genetic basis of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
